Meanwhile, while the homeowners in these areas fight over petty stuff like this, rents and/or housing prices go up and inequality increases. Everyone will vote for vague stuff like "more affordable housing" and even higher taxes but then when it comes to them putting that into action/doing something about it, they expect other people to pick up the slack. Pretty much just like the video says, hypocrisy.

Part of the reason for the higher prices is due to libs leaving their states and moving to freer ones.  But another, less obvious reason is due to large companies buying homes & condos for prices the average American isn't willing to pay.  This is artificially driving up home prices, while at the same time allowing those rich companies to own vast numbers of houses that you and I can no longer buy.  And since they are beginning to own more and more, they will one day dominate the real estate market.  It's not going to be good for us, I fear.

And the eviction moratorium fueled this corporate takeover of housing as the little guy owning a few rental properties could not afford to keep going with no rent coming in.

Precisely.  A co-worker just yesterday was bragging to me...  Last year, he took 5 months of "unpaid leave" from work.  Got several perks from the company worth at least $13-17,000, plus drew $1500 a week in unemployment, more than he would have made while working.  AND he was able to get six months' relief from making mortgage payments.

No wonder we are in such a mess today.
