i applied for a k-1 visa for my fiance. the interview was a success two weeks ago, but my fiance is currently in AP for further processing before they will issue him his visa. this could take weeks, months, who knows?!

i am seriously considering flying to morocco ASAP to wait it out with him in this time. i have nothing tying me down right now (no rent to pay, recently lost my job, no kids, etc.) so i thought, "why not?!"

BUT... when the time comes to get his visa and we return to the states together...... what will then happen to us when we are then married and apply for AOS? to apply for a k-1 in morocco you DO NOT show an affidavit of support to receive a visa. it is only required during AOS. so far they know nothing about my financial situation.

can someone tell me the requirements for AOS other than being above the poverty line? (and forget the co-sponsor idea) like, if i get a job that is above the poverty line when we both arrive in the states together, get married 2 months or so later (before the 90 days is up), then apply for AOS, is that good enough? or do my records need to show i have had a job for a specific amount of time well before we apply for AOS? my current taxes for 2007 are well above the poverty line even though i am currently unemployed. so if i get a job quickly after us both arriving, will i be okay during AOS? or am i sacrificing something by going to be with my fiance to wait for his visa? i also have finances in other means (stocks/etc). i've read i can show proof of that. would the combination of a new job AND my portfolio be sufficient?

please, please give me advice!

i did. it just said you had to be above the poverty line. it didn't say how long i would have to have had that particular job. and i've read here (can't confirm exactly where) conflicting information. i just want to be sure of what they are going to look for so i don't screw it up by going.
