This looks fantastic! You asked for feedback. Frankly, your submission is great as is. If I had to say anything, I would say that it may be useful to add "effective date" or "since date" wherever you can. I think it makes it easier for the officer to go through your file and establish if you covered the entire time span since the date of your marriage. You added it for some items but not all. :)

Best wishes!

Same here. But it is what it is. We sent every month of every statement - bank, brokerage, And we will have to do it again for the N-400 which requires 3 years of evidence, if I read the instructions correctly.

Yeah but I think you submit the N400 online with limited documentation, and you bring the rest of your evidences to the interview .

@Rocio0010 When are you sending your packet off? What do you lack insofar as things left to do before you send off your package? February is fast approaching and I am sure folks will be trickling in to the thread shortly.

I will send mine on Sunday. I'm not missing anything, just the review last day to make sure everything is in there! I even went to FedEx and got me a box prior to sending it. I don't want to be fumbling with the package the day I am ready to send it. My window opens on Saturday. I was going to mail it on Monday, but I work all day an I don't want to leave it sitting in the car.

Yep. I even asked a top notch immigration attorney about the Columbus FO. He said they're great and usually pretty fast.

When I did my AOS, I went through the Pittsburgh field office. He said (I kid you not) that Pittsburgh has the highest approval rate in the country. Columbus (where we moved now) seems to be on the fast track too. I know that the backlog might be at the processing center, but I am hoping the officer sees how thorough, nice, and complete our package is and mails it to the FO soon. Wouldn't that be nice?

Late to the game, but I wanted to chime in.  First off, wow!  Like I said in another thread, you package looks really good, and there is a ton (almost literally) of quality evidence, which is what they want to see.  I'll be following this as I am curious what will happen with your interview.  You're in a unique situation in that you would normally have had one for AoS, but since it was the pandemic that got in the way in your case, you're in unchartered territory, and there really isn't any precedent.

I would just advise (and I'm sure you know that anyway) to immediately make a copy and a scan (or take a picture) of the extension letter you will get at some point.

Also, I would definitely send out the package on Sunday (if you can) - the sooner it gets there, the better.

Best of luck to you two!!

Thank you. I went overboard because we made a mistake in the AOS package. I am the immigrant, hubby is a USC. He has a son from a previous relationship, and I made an oversight and didn't include him as my stepson in the i-485. I spoke to different attorneys and it shouldn't be an issue, because I am not sponsoring him; he's a USC and I don't have any bio kids. I just don't want USCIS to think that it is not a real marriage, that is why I included tons of evidence. I am also listing him on the i-751 as my child (I learned that USCIS considers stepkids as your children if they are minors when you married their parent), but I am answering "no" to "is he applying with you". So that is why I went a little bit overboard. They might not even think about it, but I just want to make sure I do things right this time, and that there is no room for confusion.

Oh, I understand!  And it's always better to have more than not enough.  I haven't yet seen anybody having an issue because of too much stuff, but I have definitely seen people getting RFEs and/or denials when there wasn't enough.

Since USCIS approved your AoS despite the oversight regarding your stepson, especially because he doesn't have a case linked to you, I don't think it will be a problem this time around, especially since you include him.  I imagine USCIS wanted extra documentation at the AoS stage as well, so there is a clear paper trail, and these types of mistakes happen...

👋 Making the February 2022 thread a bit less lonely!

I was aiming to file in January (my window opened on the 16th) but it's been a bit of a hectic few weeks since at my work 😅 The AOS file was so much easier to put together when I wasn't working - juggling this with a full time job is a job in itself!

Just a few bits and pieces left to gather (and a couple more statements to add in for January 2022) and I'll be double-checking my contents, putting things in order, writing my explanations for a few things, and finalizing my cover letter. I've been making 2 copies (or 2 printouts) of everything as I go and so I have two parallel packets of evidence. Hopefully this is going to be a good backup in case of any weirdness. I'm aiming to give them enough that they might just possibly in a tiny realm of possibility waive our interview, but I expect we'll be called in anyway as the AOS interview was waived. Fingers crossed tho! 🤞

That's my thinking too, that we get an interview  waiver. Does not hurt to hope!

I talked to a very experienced immigration attorney about this (the likelihood of having the ROC interview waived after having no AOS interview).

He said it could go both ways: Undoubtedly they were so satisfied with the evidence we presented for AOS that they thought ours was a legit couple. If they are satisfied with the ROC evidence, it might also work that way and we may get this one waived too.

On the other hand, USCIS might think “this is the last chance we have with this applicant before they file for citizenship, so we better make sure they’re legit” and call us for an interview.
Then he ended up saying it’s more than likely than I get it waived.

If any of the three of us get it waived, it will definitely be an interesting case. That’s why I think we need to keep us updated!
