Lot's  of cases getting their biometrics wavied. You would think they would give us our money back or at least a credit. I think they know full well who is gonna be wavied and who is not.  $85.00 in the government's coffers. What a pity for us!

They waived the action to capture the information, they are re using the information they previously captured. Now they have to complete a current background check with that previously captured information. If they return the $85, how are they going to pay for that background check? They are not reusing the background check they have done before, only the captured fingerprints, picture, etc. They still need to complete a current background check that is not free and it must be mostly done by other agencies.

Good Monday everyone!!!

I am happy because yesterday I received my VJ approval estimate and it said that my estimated approval date is April 2023. That's not too bad considering it was December 2024 at first, then October '23, May '23, and now April '23. I can live with that.

Have a great week!

I would not get too overly happy those estimates jump around all the time. You can't go by them!

Don't worry, it will go back up December 2024 soon, or even into 2025.

@Rocio0010 check out the timeline of this VJ member @Doublepike  let's see if I can paste it here:

Could this be accurate I did not message the member but I wanted to show you.  February 2022 is your month right or did you get your packet off in January? In either case if this timeline is correct wow wee!!!!! My service center is Texas also. If this timeline is correct that is a 4 month and some change approval time. Can you expedite a ROC?

Yes it is! I think my PD is February 3rd, but my SC is LIN. I feel like LIN has been "dormant" for quite a while, and someone was telling me they tend to work in batches where there is silent for a while, then massive approvals. Apparently they're working on 2021 January cases, so that would mean a year of waiting for me. But then again, I have also seen cases where people that have been waiting for longer are "stuck" and they approve more recent cases.

I don't think you can because ROC does not confer an immigration benefit itself or a change of status, if you know what I mean. It's not like if it takes too long you'll be out of status... So I don't think you can. But I was thinking of raising a SR in August if I don't hear from them. It's not going to hurt!

Today I jumped out of my chair, had two notifications, one from Lawfully and the other one for the case tracker... Well, the Lawfully one was about a lawyer's Qand A, the Case Tracker one was the NVC bulletin board... Bummer!

Silly question, did the USCIS website used to show you what cases they are currently processing?

I feel like when I used to log in to see my status, there would be an update saying something along the lines of "we're currently processing cases from XX Date". However I can't seem to see that information anymore.

My service center estimates 10 months to complete ROC (for 80% of cases), which is fine with me, but I am curious if this 'currently processing' data point has been removed.

Although it was not done as quickly as some of you, the service request about a missing biometrics appointment notice was dealt with on the last day of their 30 day window. They are using the previously collected biometrics. This was at the Potomac centre.

Good for you! It’s done and that’s what matters.

What’s your processing center?
