Yeah. I mean, it sounds scary, but it’s not like ICE will be knocking on your door on the 28th. No offense, but they have bigger fish to fry.

No offense taken. ICE knocking on my door wasn’t really a concern… was just wondering what a persons status is during the period of an expired green card but no extension letter issued.

I did a certified bankcheck / cashiers check and the money left my bank right away. I thought you can only pay with a cashiers check? How do I know now that they cashed in my cashiers check? 😕

You can use a personal cheque and in fact that's usually recommended for this very reason. A cashier's cheque guarantees payment but isn't easily tracked from your end. You may be able to call the bank on which the cashier's cheque is drawn and ask them to trace it. Some banks are more helpful on this front than others.

i literally had no idea. I would have done that if I would have known. I thought only cashiers check. :( hmmm thank you. Well I got today the message that my case was received. Does that mean they cashed in my check as well?

I believe that's right - if you've got the text saying your case was received then that means they've processed the payment. My payment was processed Feb 9 and I received the text on Feb 10.

Looks like they processed my cheque yesterday (02/24), relieved to be honest.

Now I'm just waiting for the NOA in the mail 👀
