VJ members,

I just received a mail at my home address that my spouse's ITIN has been rejected. But my spouse already got her social security card like 2 weeks ago. So I do not want to continue ITIN application anymore and also delaying my regular tax filing due to ITIN application tagged on it. What should be my next step, how do I continue my tax returns voiding ITIN application. Please advise.

What did the letter say was the reason?  I am guessing they rejected the ITIN because they found out she got the SSN.  You can't have or use both.

Call the IRS and ask them.

I would send an amended return using the spouse's SSN on the forms.  Do not apply for the ITIN again.
