Hey guys as some of you know my AOS interview that was scheduled for July 13th was canceled by USCIS. I received a Notice Of Action regarding the cancellation from Lees Summit via Snail Mail.

Ok, so today I check my mailbox and I get a letter from my LOCAL OFFICE (Los Angeles) stating to appear on July 31st. The reason; "Interview regarding your Adjustment of Status Application, Form I-485" and it says to ask for "DISTRICT ADJUDICATION OFFICER" The letter was sent by the USCIS District Director. Now my question is, is this good news or bad news? I have heard that AOS interviews were rescheduled by USCIS from Lees Summit, this is just a regular letter from my local office.

Should I still go to my regular interview and see what happens or could we get in trouble?

Does anyone know what CM/YM means?

Thanks for any feedback guys

I uploaded a scan of the letter I got from them.

I would say to go to the one that was "canceled" anyway. I've read here on VJ plenty of times were people who did not go to the canceled ones, had problems with denial for a no show. What's the worse thing they can do? Tell you to go home & come back later in the month for the other interview? I say go to both to figure out what is going on.

Yes go and come back and tell us what REALLY happened!!

Like the above person said, better to go and be told it was cancelled IN PERSON then to not go and get a denail for abandonment of your case!! I think if you look up interviews you will find many who received the cancel letter, and the outcomes of their situation.

How many people who got a interview cancellation, and then got denied for not showing up for their interview, got the cancellation by snail mail, rather than email though? I ask this question every time I see things like this posted, because anecdotally I believe that a real letter means a real cancellation, whereas emails are not to be trusted.

I would guess the July 31st appointment is your rescheduled interview.
