Yes. You will go into AP until they get results.

NO too long a wait to reschedule

go to interview

u would go into AP even if u hand carried the medical exam papers in

AP is for lots of things

for one it takes time to produce the visa when approved and this is part of Administrative processing

In London your results are sent electronically so no courier. It’s instant.

There is a wait to get any bloodwork back from the lab. That could be as soon as Jan 7, but maybe Monday of the next week. Any other delay would be if you showed up at the medical unprepared with what they say to bring (shot records, 2 Covid jabs, Personal Care Record from your NHS surgery, police certificate, etc. Check the list on this page. https://visamedicals.co.uk/united-states/
I would expect your medical results to be at the embassy in London by Jan 10-11 if all goes well and you go in prepared.

No to reschedule.  And be patient because the day they send your results over isn’t always going to be the day they complete your visa processing. The officer has to get back to your case when he has time. That is the biggest variable.

thanks for all the advice, when would you estimate I could actually enter the US? do you have any idea what the processing times are like ?

Assuming it all goes perfectly because you have all the right documents and nothing further (than the medical results) to be provided, then your visa/passport  could be in your hands by Jan 13-ish. But that depends on so many things so I wouldn’t buy a plane tick for that week. The processing was mostly done at NVC. The interviewer will give you a tentative approval (pending medical) while you are there. Whenever they look at the medical, there’s no delay really. The visa just have to be printed and passed on to the courier…1-2 days. Then delivery is next day.
