The now weekly burndown (of untouched cases) activity report.
Shows the cases moving from untouched to some other status.

Dramatically higher activity for week of 12-10 & 12-24 this past week.
30% of untouched cases getting opened in some way is really good numbers.

A few more RFEs than approvals but even so, this group finally started to see some action.

Ad for other weeks, the status is about normal.

Max (previously untouched) cases opened :    62
        Occurring week of:     2021-12-24

Confused about a few things of anyone could illuminate. I’ve been reading conflicting information:

is the 6 months to travel on receiving visa from 129f approval or visa approval?

when and where should I submit tax records and affidavit of support? I129f not approved yet but optimism abounds

the process is confusing for sure.

after I129F, USCIS sends the paper file to NVC to have a "case created" ...NVC posts time frames as to when they process the papers "received" from USCIS but there is no public data as to how long it takes USCIS to box, ship, or for the box to actually be "received" by NVC.

the I134 is then used in the next step after this ...

Unclear where you got the 6 months from but timeframes (as listed on the internet) are often incorrect.

Gotcha on one of the questions and thanks for answering. As far as how long we have for her to travel to the us before the visa expires is- is it 6 months from 129f approval or 6 months from visa granted?  Sorry for any confusion and thanks!!!

Are you talking about the validity of the K1 visa? Like how long would you have for your fiancé to enter US once the visa is granted?
It's 6 months starting from the medical exam. As far as I know, the expiring date on the K1 visa (if granted) is the medical exam date. That's why a lot of people get the medical exam done close to the interview, about 1 week before.

February 2022 I-129F K1 Case Status Spreadsheet can be found here.
NVC Timelines spreadsheet can be found here.
NOA1:
Feb 22nd, 2022 | NOA2: May 12th, 2023 (444 days) | NVC Received: July 3rd, 2023 (52 days) | Case number: Aug 2nd, 2023 (82 days) | In Transit: Aug 15th, 2023 (95 days)  | Ready: Aug 17th, 2023 | Medical: Sep 22nd, 2023 | Interview: Sep 26th, 2023

There are lots of crazy "deadlines" that we are bound to but the government is not (of course)

For example, the NOA2 approval from the USCIS is only valid for 4 months but can be extended if processing is not completed
Police Reports (necessary for DS-160) expire based on regional localities

Medical Exam Can Expire (as stated above)
Once interview happens and VISA is actually issued, generally it is 6 months to get to USA (although can be shorter)
AND once here, then marriage must happen in 90 days (or all is lost).

In general, move as fast as you can, the Government will take the time it chooses to do its processing.
Personally, I find it frustrating that we are left in the dark about what/when/how things are moving forward

(like recently in many forums, people are talking about having to file "Inquiries" to get their NVC numbers and it is also seemingly far, far, far longer than the published case creation times)

I think this is your 6 month question

Once the U.S. embassy or consular office issues a K-1 visa, the engaged couple needs to make arrangements for the foreign national fiancé to come to the United States for marriage. The foreign national may use the K-1 visa to enter the U.S. one time. It is a single-use visa that is generally valid for a period of six months from the date of issuance. Check your visa. Some K-1 visas may be issued with a shorter validity period.

Notice it says to check the VISA because it could be shorter

Wouldn't be suprised .... have also read it can take 4-6 weeks to get the actual packet post interview ....
ergo ... we have to rush ... aiaiai

Packet with the passport + visa you mean?

I don’t know where your fiancé is located in Brazil, but at least for non-immigrant visas here it’s about 2 weeks for southeast region (SP, Rio). Since I’m still waiting for NOA2, I haven’t really researched that. But the medical having to be close to the interview is a common practice for K1 Brazilian filers, due to medical expiration in 6 months.

@mw & rg k1are you still waiting to hear back from your RFE submission??

Actually was approved 3/29/2023 and now waiting on NVC o receive (did slip that into one of my updates, but also didn't want to make a big splash about it)
Letter to Senator was a Dud -  Got back a "we need you to send of even more forms before we can consider taking any action" (yuck)

Did a Case Inquiry to NVC today ...

Just lots of waiting overall

My update script is running and will be posting Monday's report soon

Monday's report.
This includes all activity for December only filers (yes, I filtered out the November 2021 and January 2022) from this and organized by week number.
I also use the "posted date" in the message to say when things happened.
This is why there is some things with an Saturday (4/8), Sunday (4/9) and even Tuesday (4/11) date shown.

In looking for the bright side, Notice Dec 20-24 ... in just this (really one) working day, they touched > 10% of the untouched cases.
On the even brighter side - so far the Approvals are at least equal to or higher than the RFE count.
As September and November was in this state, they were getting mostly RFEs .... so this is a good sign (if even slow)
