Wednesday's Untouched cases that were opened report.
Unlike some of the other statistics out there, this graph looks ONLY at untouched cases that were opened in some way.

The data is compared with Friday 17 Feb 2023.

Analysis: there is a ton of activity all over the place and a continued inconsistency in a focused area.
For those back in Sept/Oct/Nov, there was at least some good news that some cases were opened.

RFE as a ratio has seemed to return to more respectable levels and outright denials has remained low.

Trying a new format (using .'s) as FB and other posting locations sometimes make a mess of the data
As for me, it looks like the local peak has passed by Dec 15th case so I am hopeful that it gets opened soon.

Now the technical details

Max (previously untouched) cases opened :    118
        Occurring week of:     2021-12-24

Total (previously untouched) cases opened :    495

What service did you use and what were some of the recommendations they gave you?

We used RapidVisa. Its not cheap, but it made the process extremely easy for us. I think it was around 400?

Basically, the instructions give advice on top of the required forms. Things like labeling the pictures of you two together with dates, locations, names. Making sure you don't include too few or too many pictures. Making sure you include receipts/bank statements from both of you showing you were at the same place/same time. Making sure to include boarding passes for flights because a flight confirmation doesn't show you actually went there. We got our statements of intent notarized (not necessary but it showed we were together and got it done). Family letters aren't needed but helpful. Clarifying details on the statement of how you met. Just a lot of clarifying and providing details so the agent doesn't have to ask questions or ask for more.

Burndown (showing a week worth of activity in opening previously untouched cases)

Analysis:
The majority of cases continues to shift along and while I don't scan 2022 cases, there is a clear indication that they would be processing January 2022 already.
I like many other people are waiting for the USCIS to "open my case" ...
Looking back, only ~50% of my case date (Dec 15th) has been opened which is about average for the week of Dec 13-17.

All of September (except week ending 10/01) is eligible for a case inquiry.  Shortly even this group will be as of Tuesday (2/28/2023).

I sure hope December doesn't get stuck as bad as July/Aug/Sept ... and likely Oct/Nov shortly.

Now to the data.
Max (previously untouched) cases opened :    170
        Occurring week of:     2021-12-24

Total (previously untouched) cases opened :    715

Im hoping USCIS make the 2021 filers as priority.

According to my records, only 3078 completely untouched cases in 2021.

It would take USCIS 1-2 months to just open the untouched cases from 2021
(not even counting the RFEs processing time.)

Either staffing would have to more than triple or USCIS would have to further shift the average processing time to make 2021 a priority to finish.

:(
