Filed I-130A in April 2021 - Got Approved, next Step DS-260. Question about pausing process

Hi there

We're currently living in London and have filed for a Spousal visa in April, the I-130 got approved and we're onto the next step.

We're not sure when we want to move, hence my question. At what step could we pause the process best? Is there a specific timeline we have to adhere to?

We haven't paid the fees yet as we don't want to start a 'countdown'...

Can anyone help with this request?

And after DS-260, we'd have the interview/health check and then would be able to move, correct?

Best

Timeline

you have to keep in touch with NVC in a yearly basis

To pause for more than a year, you will have to prove to NVC that is for reason outside of your control

A failure to do that will result in case being abandoned and closed as that

11/28/2016: I-130 sent to Chicago IL lock box
01/12/2016: NOA1

Thanks for answering.

What does Keep in touch mean? Login to the website after paying the fees?

I had a case (for my dad) a while ago and we struggled to get some docs. NVC will be sending a letter (at least at that time) asking if we were planning to continue with the case

They expect a formal communication to inform them of the status and what the delay is for

Do not pay fees or do any processing until you are ready to move. From you starting the process to NVC reviewing your documents and putting you in the Interview queue is about 4 to 6 months now. So consider that timeline when you are ready to begin.
You have 1 year from 1st communications which will be your welcome letter.
Don't let that year go by without communicating to them whether in email(Public Inquiry form), call or starting process.

From now on your VJ Member name will be verified. If the name you put on form to be added to spreadsheet comes up not found, you will not be added to the spreadsheet. If you don't have a timeline you will not be added to the spreadsheet.

Please Please put your VJ member name only. Not nicknames or real names whatever your VJ name is. It's below your profile picture!!

I actually share this question with the OP.  For example, if after a NOA2 approval you wait 6 months to proceed with the next step (DS-260), is there any issue?

I realize most people on this forum simply want quicker processing, but for a variety of reasons, I'd like to time my move during a particular time of the year if possible.
