Why?

Denial letter from who?

If the embassy is requiring her to get a new medical just schedule a new medical. You should not require some health case inquiry. If the embassy is requesting it they would have given you/your daughter something in writing requesting it. Just schedule an exam and submit that document from the embassy.

A 221g refusal is just a temporary refusal pending submission of additional requirements.  If it were a hard denial, the embassy would not have asked for a new medical.  Just book a new appointment at SLEC.

you guys don't understand UNFORTUNATELY they have this new rules that if you need to re-do your medical.  you need to have your Health Inquiry get approve by St Luke.

it's very frustrating because no one at St Luke can give me a clear answer when that health case inquiry will get approve.

Did you get this resolved? I am in the same boat... St Luke's refuses to schedule an appointment stating that repeat medical require a health case number from the Embassy. I have been requesting this number from the Embassy since december 2021 to no avail.

If I try to schedule as if it is a new medical examination, St Luke's system flags me as having done a previous exam and requires this health case number to proceed.

Did you guys ever receive a resolution? We have to re-do the medical exam now as well (following DS-5535 clearance as of today, which took 3 months or around 60 business days).

I proactively called the Embassy asking them for the Health Case ID number about 2 months ago and they still haven't released it. Any inputs here would be helpful. Thanks!

Very happy to hear you got the DS-5535 is resolved.

Have you submitted a request on Saint Luke's site recently?  IE after the 221g was cleared up. Maybe the request 2 months ago could have "to soon"???   https://slec.ph/inquiry/healthcase/

Thanks for your prompt response!

We tried to submit an inquiry on the SLEC website but could not get through without the case #.  From some other threads, I a) gathered that this is something that the Embassy has to provide (even though it's not in the 221g letter) and 2) that they can take their time to provide this (someone was waiting 7 months for it and I'm not sure if it ever got provided).

I would be curious to hear more about your experience if you've gone through the same process. Thanks!

Thanks for responding!

Unfortunately, we can't submit the request on St. Luke's website without the Health Case ID #. I called them again last week and it still isn't moving. I also spoke with a lawyer and he said that he's never heard of this process (i.e. having to request a Health Case ID #) for any other embassy.

If you went through this process, I would really appreciate hearing about your experience.

Thank you,

-Carlos
