I am a US citizen living in the States since 2001. I am petitioning for my wife to join me in the States. She had her interview in Egypt and was given a yellow 221 form with a mark next to proof of domicile. I came back to Egypt in August 2020 due to the pandemic. I have my own business in the USA and have been paying both personal and business taxes consistently with the latest return submitted this year. I submitted the following additional documents after receiving the 221:
- valid US license,
- active voter registration,
- business and personal bank account statements,
- my company's registration,
- personal and business tax records for the last three years including this year

Is that enough or do I need something else?

What proof of domicile/ intent to re-establish domicile did you show before the 221?

Do you have a home in the USA? Proof of paying utilities is a good evidence.

Generally a letter outlining your plans to move back to the USA and a lease or letter from a friend/relative stating you'll be living with them is an alternative if you do not currently own a home.

I have added a new signed rental agreement starting February 2022... .and stated that my wife & I decided to move north when she arrives because her career opportunities are better north than in Florida where I was living

Great! I've seen people have success when they add a rental agreement.

Good luck! I hope your wife receives her visa soon.

Really appreciate your help. A few details, not sure if its relevant or significant

the counselor told my wife she won't have to have another interview, just follow instructions on yellow form then bring back her passport when they ask her to.

@virtapreneur On a separate note, may I know when did she have her interview at the Cairo embassy? Because Im about to finish submitting NVC documents and was under the impression that they're only carrying out expedited interviews in Cairo.

Wife's I-130:

03/15/2019 NOA1 (Nebraska Service Center)

02/11/2020 Case transferred to Vermont Service Center

02/02/2021 NOA2 الحمد لله

02/04/2021 Approval email
02/12/2022 NVC documents submitted

No, they are doing regular interviews but there is a long backlog.
