They are now posting at which stage they are in for various immigrant visa categories by DQ date in terms of interview letters.

"As of November 30, 2021, most IR visa cases being scheduled for interview were documentarily complete at the National Visa Center in October 2021. Most K visa cases being scheduled were documentarily complete in July 2021. Most current employment-based cases being scheduled were documentarily complete in January 2020. Most current family preference cases were documentarily complete in June 2019."

***Moved to the Philippines regional forum as the info is country-specific***

Thanks for the update. The embassy must be swamped with these questions for them to post this.

It is not as if they were not swamped before.

Actually, I think it is because the government told me to stop the tiered system. Since they are now effectively (hopefully) actually processing all categories of visas, they can just post all the dates as a means of verifying compliance.

We are waiting on an F2A visa. Just out of curiosity, do you know if many visas at all were being DQ'd between March 2020 and December 2020? Or was that unchanged?

Technically, no, but USCIS sends the case onto NVC, where it gets a case number, right?  I guess that would be what they are referring to.

However, the Embassy was just lazy when they wrote this update.  They grouped K1 in with immigrant visas, and it is technically a non-immigrant visa.

Could also be whoever is in charge of Embassy public comms only has a superficial understanding of the K visa process, which is why they think K visas also get DQ'd.

I don't think the listed "July 2021" date corelates to any actual wait times on K-1 visas.  I’m pretty sure there are still thousands of couples with cases from 2020 who are still waiting for interviews.  In October, the most recent month with statistics available, USEM issued 192 K-1 visas which was a big increase over the 50 or so a month they had been doing.   But even if they further dramatically increased that number in November, they still couldn’t be anywhere near clearing the backlog.
