Can original documents be emailed?

Do the documents need to be mailed to your spouse in their country or can they print copies of the certified documents that you send to their email?

Its for Colombia.  Specifically the divorce decree.

Is the embassy asking for the divorce decree? It should have received the copy that was sent in the I-129F.

US embassy in Columbia says

 

When the case is received at the Embassy, we will send the beneficiary a packet of instructions that provides further information, including how to book an appointment and what documents the beneficiary will need to present at the interview.

and if they say "original "  they want the real thing 

as soon as you email them ,  they are no longer original 

 

if you have to send original ,  get another court copy for your own records /going to need them for AOS , etc

Documents are suppose to be returned to the bene after interview/  don't count on it
