Clarification needed

Hi All,

I came across a FB post that I’m curious about. If someone came across on work visa, I-797 has now expired (but yet visa stamp is still valid)? How does that work? I have no experience with work visa as I adjusted through K1 visa

Can they get admitted to the US to apply for work extension?

TIA

Is it normal for I-797 to have different expiration date than what is stamped in a passport? Thank you

yes it happens. most of the times i-797 is granted for 3 years based on change of employer or filing extension. visa is usually granted only till the expiry of the i-797 approved at the time of visa stamping.

duh
