24 months Extension letter

So I filed in in 02/2021

I was given a 18 months extension letter.

I heard uscis is sending out 24 months letter even to those  who received 18 months earlier.

Till date i have not received the 24 months letter. Though my 18 months expires in October. Case currently show scheduled for interview but I saw applicant who waited for 1+ years before interview actually scheduled. Anyone else received 24 months after 18 months letter??

If your extension letter expires, you can request an infopass appointment to get an ADIT stamp.  I have seen someone here say that they received both an 18 month letter and a 24 month letter later.

BTW, we have been waiting for almost 3 years......filed about 2 years before you filed.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Since your current extension letter will not expire until October 2022, you are fine.  I have heard of others getting a 24 month letter after first getting the 18 month version, but not really sure it is universal.  As @Crazy Cat stated, if you are close to the expiration date of the extension letter, you can schedule an appointment to get the I551/ADIT stamp.

Good Luck!

Someone on the facebook group for ROC waited four years to get their ROC approved.  They had no divorce involved at all.  Not sure if these 24 month extension letters are really worth it.  Might have to start making 3 year extension letters or discontinue CR-1 all together.
