Hello everybody. I just thought I’d put a quick post on here to say that my visa was granted last week (should be with me today, hopefully).

The interview was surprisingly laidback. A few questions about me and my wife and how we met - that kind of thing. Then some questions about why we want to move and who we’ll be staying with and that was it. All done. A lot less formal than I’d imagined it would be.

Thanks again for everyone’s help.

Congratulations

Same experience the day Adil was approved

3 questions only like address he would go to

when the 2 passport photos he bought with him were taken

and date of marriage

The CO has read thru the package and they know ahead of all circumstances

It says on the visa that it’s “permanent residence for 1 year.” What does this mean and what happens after that?

your visa is good as proof of residency ONCE YOU enter the USA and your passport is stamped by the immigration officer at the border

Once all that happens, your visa and stamp serve as a temporary "green card" until you receive your actual card
