Call IRS back and ask for a letter stating just that

and take copy of 1040 and cancelled check to interview

if you do not get checks back as processed print out the month statement showing IRS recd the check and cashed it

do I need that on later date?

You can upload the tax return documents including W2 and such for now. You can bring the transcript during the interview.

Yes you can file your N400 online. Do it right away.  they are handling those cases fast. by the time your appointment date comes up, you’ll have  the 2020 tax return.

Did you try creating on account on the IRS website that was where I went and retrieved my tax transcript. Good luck! You got this.

keep checking your online IRS account for the 2020 transcript. When it comes go to your USCIS account and upload it.

called IRS and I was told to wait 16 weeks for the tax refund to be processed.

by the way how long it's taking these days for the naturalization process. I filed N400 on DEC 07,2021.

We called the IRS again tonight and asked for a letter and they just referred us to the irs website to print off a generic document about delayed processing due to covid.  How do we get a letter from them?  They are never helpful.  They always say the same thing: Don't call back for 16 weeks from the date of today's call.
