Interview Process Germany

Hello everyone

I am a bit confused regarding the interview process.

we got an email last week from NVC telling us that Our case has been completed by NVC and it is moving to the consulate in Frankfurt. from that email and reading other's posts on VJ I understand that we don't need to do anything for now (other than gathering documents to present during the interview itself) and that the consulate is going to contact us regarding an interview appointment. Is that correct?

I am unsure because the information on the VJ page for Frankfurt consulate talks about sending out a packet 3 to the consulate (which, basically contains all the documents already sent to NVC ). Is this information outdated? Non of the links in the description work.

I also have a second question regarding police certificates. I was living in France for a few years and therefore attached a PC with our NVC documents. So I do have a clear PC and a translation. My problem is that both the PC as the translation are just digital. I never received a physical copy of both as you can choose with French PC if you want to receive a copy by mail or e-mail only. I could ask for a new physical copy of the PC, but then would need a new translation. It is mostly a timing question.

Is there anything I should/ could do during the waiting process of getting an interview scheduled? NVC process took forever for us, so I really want to make this last stage as smooth as possible. I am also concerend about the current Covid situation in germany and the possibility of the consulate closing again.

Thanks everyone for your help, can't tell you how appreciative I am of this community

The information is not outdated but for K1 applicants. You just wait till they tell you your interview date.

It would be good to request a hardcopy for your PC. Maybe they don't want to see it again, maybe they do. If they want it and even if you don't have it ready by the time of the interview you're at least already in the process and won't lose too much time afterwards.

Nothing else you can do right now.

Your case just became DQ 11/29/21 so your notice probably is the one they send to inform u of that and the case will be sent to Germany when embassy its ready

NVC and embassies work together to schedule interviews for spouse visas

u have time to get the police report document from France

but now its just wait for the letter telling u of interview date

Thanks for your answers. I already asked for a new PC, it should be fine timewise.

Does someone know if my husband needs to send me his I-864 with ink/wet signature? when he uploaded it, he only signed it digitally with acrobat.

"AFFIDAVIT OF SUPPORT (original completed form with original signature)"

Just now, Letspaintcookies said:

He can scan the signed document and email it to you. That's good enough.

but the original document that he uploaded to NVC is signed digitally. so is it ok to just have a printed version of it to bring to my interview? I also read somewhere that he would need to sign and date it again if there is more than 6 months between upload and interview appointment?

they tend to ask for undated ones when the tax year for the interview is different than when the I 864 was first done

now   2020 IRS tax report due

after 4/15/22 -   2021 IRS tax reports for supporting the I 864 are needed for interview

and many countries that are high fraud do have to have wet signature /  but Germany is not high fraud
