I need help please. Form i130 was file in July. I did not get a notice except a case number. I did inquiry as to where my case was process, I was told to use Texas processing time. I call in to USCIS and spoke with a representative, I was told my case is process in Texas. Surprisingly I got the I797C in the mail this December it came from Nebraska.  With two different information how can i actually know where my case is process? Is there a way I can know by looking at my account online?

Please do a timeline on your profile then we could help in many ways

when u got the case #,  did u get the notice to pay the AOS and ds 260 bills?

If so,  have you filled out the AOS and sent in supporting documents?

Has your spouse filled in the SD 260 and sent u the needed criminal report(s)?

those questions would be answered on a timeline and then we could tell you more about the status of your case like if you were DQ and waiting in line for embassy and NVC to schedule the interview, etc

You can check case status here but the info is limited

@JeanneAdil, the case is still with USCIS.  I am trying to create a timeline but I don't know where my case is process.

Case # is a terminology used when the petition is approved and the NVC assigns a case number.  Before that happens, the I-130 is assigned a receipt number.  Probably starts with "IOE", correct?

Look at the bottom of your I-797C.  The service center listed there is the one that is initially assigned for your petition.  USCIS may move your petition to a different service center to balance processing load across the offices.

To check the status of your petition now that you have a receipt number, enter it here:
