Also, what else should I file when trying to adjust my residence status to permanent besides form i-751?

Please read this Guide. You need a looooot more than just the form I-751

The i751 removal of conditions is filed by the conditional green card holder. The green conditional card holder is both the petitioner and the beneficiary for the application. The US based spouse is only the spouse for a joint i751 application.

You must include the signed i751 application, payment for filing fee and biometric fee (or fees).

Copy of conditional green card front and back.

Evidence of of bonafide marriage

Joint tax returns for each year of marriage

Joint lease or mortgage during marriage

Joint Bank statement for each month of marriage showing co mingling of money

Joint Bills

Birth records of any children together

Joint insurance (Auto, health, life)

Copies of Driver licenses or state ID with common home address

Pictures together on holiday together, at famil;y events

Travel document of travel together

Joint property title (auto, home)

Even mail address to both of you sent to your home address

and  even more evidence you may have.

I urge you to go to i751 page at USCIS for instructions on how to fill out the form, what the fee is, and address where to mail it to.

well, the instructions state the following,

If you are still married, then file Form I-751 jointly with your spouse through whom you obtained conditional status

so unless someone tells us otherwise, part 3 is my information as I am the petitioner's spouse which is my wife.

Another question: Do we really need to submit a cover letter.

Cover letter makes it easy for the officer. It's like reading a book with a table of content. It's not required but important.
