CFO question: OLD CFO

 Share

I read back 35 pages to the point data is too old. Wife did CFO 2016, in person. Was given a notarized certificate with no expiration and no sticker (you did not need a Visa then for class.) We never left because we where stuck in administrative processing. We have a six year old. Distillation of what I read here:

Wife still must go online but it will be a simpler process since she previously took the class?

Child has no to minimal involvement in process? The mythical sticker is/is not needed?

Sincere thank you for any guidance.

Not needed if you have certificate. With your case I'm not sure if they would consider her certificate too old and also at that time you needed the sticker.

CFO-GCP  certificate does not expire.  But to exit the Philippine with a emigrant visa in the passport a sticker is required ... Currently CFO is not issuing stickers they have this online "course" and issue a certificate that is good for travel (not sure it is the same certificate your wife has)   Your wife could contact CFO and mention that she had completed CFO and has the certificate,  just needs a sticker and see how CFO reacts, for this part your wife will need the visa in her passport.

Your 6 year old child is a dual citizen (both passports) ?

Very interpretive of you as I forgot to mention. Yes. Child dual. Both passports in hand.

Thanks to those who respond (ed)!

My wife has a similar situation and I posted about it here:

You can skip the parts about PCP and my step-daughter.  They instructed my wife to contact them about getting a sticker after her visa is issued.  They are responsive on Facebook, so you can ask again and get updated info.  If anything has changed, let us know.

We determined that CFO has everchanging rules that differ from person to person and day to day.  However, there IS some sort of "official" procedure for revalidating existing certificates and miscellaneous "they never sent me the sticker"  issues (albeit temporarily) .  Go to https://cfo.gov.ph/re-issuance-revalidation-and-amendment-with-gcp/ or https://cfo.ph/Certificate_ReIssuance_And_Sticker_Request/ (during Phil work hours)

Here we go, although top_secret probably did the job.

Visa in hand we could finally contact CFO. We explained we completed/graduated the CFO before a sticker was required. They asked for our email. Never a country to disappoint they transposed some letters making the email invalid. They then did the only fair thing a profound bureaucracy could do. Torture us.

We had to send enough personal data via unsecured mail for an identity theft wet dream. Then after we fully complied they sent an official link asking for the exact same documents but now via PDF and probably secure.

We filled out the PDF while also weeding thru about six ambiguous bullet points.

We had to pay for a sticker to be sent via LBC. But just in case we never get the LBC they said they would verify the details and hopefully send us an email link for a temporary certificate that may be used at the airport.

Needless to say the temporary certificate is the star of the show to which nothing else matters. We are waiting.

To end on a positive note: The office was polite and professional.  Please excuse any confusion as I am fatigued. Thank you.
