Another way to restate that is

 

”If US can harm its tourism industry why can’t Europe do the same?”

 

And the answer is, they can.  Doesn’t mean I don’t think these actions are stupid.  Whether by the USA, Schengen Area, Canada, or Australia (which invented this over 20 years ago).  Australia is always innovating when it comes to travel restrictions as anyone currently locked up in a Covid concentration camp can attest.

What are these "hoops" of which ye speak?  Is it in reference to the UK, or all international travelers to the US?
