Hello Everyone,

I just have a simple question. I had my interview on October 28th, 2021 in Lima-Peru and I got my immigrant visa approved (after a lengthy process). I am still waiting for DHL (or US Embassy in Lima) to mail or get an email notification regarding my issued visa. It has been over 4 weeks after the interview and no update. I frequently check my email, CEAC and ais.usvisa webpage. I am aware with Covid there has been delays in every step of the way. I was wondering if someone have had the same experience and waited for 4 to 5 weeks (or even more)  to get the visa issue after consular interview since the pandemic started.

Thank you for reading!

Would be great if you could fill out your timeline page so the site can accumulate more data for Lima embassy. For my own curiosity, what type of visa is this? and when were you documentarily qualified from NVC?

As to your question, and knowing the embassy here pretty well, I would allow extra time due to the November  holidays (All Saints Day [1] , Veteran's Day [11], Thanksgiving [25]) and then of course more in December. As others have asked though what exactly is the message from CEAC?

CEAC update says Ready for an interview. I am assuming they haven’t update that information.

Thanks PGA I will have to keep waiting. It is a F24 visa and priority date is AUG 2012.  CEAC update says Ready for an interview. I am assuming they haven’t update that information.

Until it says “issued” you don’t have your visa yet

Thanks JPAZ I am aware of that. I am just asking if someone this year at the Embassy in Lima-Peru have waited over 4 weeks for the visa to be issued after the interview.

I am assuming that when you said it was “approved”, it was just a verbal approval right? They might be doing some extra checks.

Could you let us know how long did you wait for the interview? When was your case DQ?

Thanks,

Kel
