My AOS package is ready.

I am from India, the issued birth certificate is in english language in original.

I have anathor issued by the municipality in hindi (national language)

To avoid confusion I am submitting only a copy of the one in english.

Do you think they might not accept this as the original and ask for a birth cert in hindi accompanied with a translation in english.

I saw a post where someone got a RFE for something like this..so asking..

To be on the saver side, do i submit an affidavit for the same as well. I have a copy of that.

Suggestions plz.

The birth cert issued to me by the municipality was in english as well as hindi.

2 original copies, one in english, the other in hindi.

Now i am submitting a photocopy of the one which in only in english.

Its not a translation, but a copy of the original issued in english.

is this fine?

Yes, that is what I meant, I would send the English one in only, so they do not get confused by he Hindi one. In the instructions for filing I485 it only says 'all documents not in English must be accompanied by an English translation' so you really should be fine with your English birth certificate.

They accepted mine, although it was issued by my home country and I did not send a certified translation with it.
