Beneficiary’s birth certificate - error

My husband and I are putting everything together for the I-130 and we noticed on his birth certificate has his mothers maiden name misspelled (they didn’t add an “e” at the end of the name). It sounds like we are going to need to submit his birth certificate at NVC and interview stages. We are taking steps to get this corrected -the UK registry gave him all the steps and said that should allow them to correct it. i guess we just want to err on the side of caution and prepare just in case the registry doesn’t make the name correction.

So my questions are—

1) has anyone dealt with misspellings of a parent’s name on the birth certificate (that they didn’t get corrected before submittal) and had any issues because of it for the visa petition process?
2) Any advice on whether he should spell his mother’s maiden name “as is” currently written on his birth certificate. Will this not even trigger a discrepancy if we do so and had to submit his original birth certificate, since the names would match? I know they delve deep into the applicants, but wasn’t sure if they care at all about something like this.

thanks in advance for any advice

Be open and honest about it.  Use her correct name.  The foreign spouse's birth certificate is not needed with the initial filing.  If it's not fully corrected several months later when at NVC, send the certificate as is PLUS copies of the documents you submitted to correct it.

I appreciate the advice and it sounds like the correct approach. Thanks!
