How Do I Get A SS Number?

Hello VisaJourney Family,

 

My husband's EAD card is being produced. He selected that he wanted a social security number to sent to him on the I-485. Is there anything else he should do to get a SS number quickly?

It's past doing it quickly

he should have gone to SS office or applied online with the I 94 within the 90 days allowed upon arrival

now,  it is wait for USCIS to process

 

make sure he signs up for selective service if under 26

Hello,

 

Everything was closed when he arrived due to COVID. Thus, we had to wait on the I-485 process. He is over 26. Thank you for your post.

He can call SSA to see if an application for his number is in the system. If not he can make an appointment to apply for one.
