Timeline

For the AOS form, for the current spouse legal name would we put my maiden name or what is on our marriage license/certificate? Thank you in advance :)

  • 03-09-2022 - Biometrics Appointment

Your legal name is the name you use now. If you kept your maiden name, use that. If you changed to your spouse's last name, use that. Our marriage certificate has my maiden name, but it's not the name I use legally.  I've been married twice before, and never changed my name since my first marriage. That's my legal name and the one we used on the AOS form. We were never asked about it.

Your legal married name is any name or combination of names listed on your MC including those listed on it that are not a part of your name but listed as part of the other party's name. 

You can use any of those legally moving forward as your new legal name.
