Well, our submission was on Oct 22, so based on what I'm seeing here, reply should literally be any day now!

This was posted in the November thread:

So, you should hear something this week

Sharing my data point here:

I just got DQ'ed today! Submitted the last required document on 10/26/2021. Submitted the last additional documents (under W2, 1099, proof of employment types) on 1/19/2022. This shows that the NVC uses the date for the "required document", not "additional documents".

ahhhh that is so good to hear! I’ve been punching myself in the face the last week for submitting the w2 with the fear that it reset my date to January (when my original submission was early November😭)

For everyone who added additional documents AFTER your initial submission date, please share with everyone here:

  1. What document did you upload?
  2. What was your original submission date?
  3. Did you use a different category or the original category?
  4. When were you DQ'ed?
  5. What was the submission date after your new documents submitted?

For example, for our case:

  1. We added an explanation for why no W2, we added a preview of my W2 in 2021 that shows my new income, we added an explanation why my W2 address is different from the IV application address.
  2. Original submission date was October 20th
  3. We submitted all additional documents using "Other" category.
  4. We were DQ'ed January 21st.
  5. The submission dates for those additional documents was December 19, January 07, January 16

Got DQed today!!!!! We were so worried we got put at the back of the line but we weren't!

1. I realized made a mistake on one of the required documents I already submitted. The required document had to be an explanation of why I didn't file a tax return.

2. Original submission was Oct 22.

3. Added document to fix the mistake, under "federal tax return or transcript" category, which was the actual category. This was in additional documents.

4. Submission dates for that one document was Dec. 14.

I believe as long as you've already submitted the required documents and then added documents are in "additional documents," you won't go to the back of the line!

Seems that as long as you upload additional documents BEFORE the review by an NVC officer, you don't go to the back of the line. But, if uploading additional documents after review, you do still get put at the back.

I should hopefully have my review in the next few days (Re-submission 27th October), very worried we might be stuck with another 3 month wait if anything else needs to be uploaded

That's correct. My very first submission was August 1, got an RFE in October putting me at the back again, and then finally DQed 3 months later. I was worried about the additional document I added in December resetting the clock, but it looks like you can hold your place in line if it's an additional document. If you find anything you may need to upload or fix, make sure you do that before your review so you don't have to wait again, good luck!!

If you don't mind me asking - what did you submit when you had to explain why you didn't file your taxes? This is the reason why we weren't DQed- because uploading the tax extension wasn't an explanation. Thank you!!!

I wrote an explanation saying I've been a full-time student with no income and therefore not required to file taxes. Signed it and that was it!
