It says:

The National Visa Center (NVC) updated the status of your immigrant visa application. Please go to the Department of State's Consular Electronic Application Center (CEAC) at https://ceac.state.gov/IV. You will need your NVC case number and invoice ID number to log into your account.

Once you have logged into CEAC, please look in your message box or on the Status Chart at the bottom of the page. If NVC has feedback on any items you submitted, there will be a new message with details. If not, please simply follow the updated instructions on your Status Chart to complete your case. If any column says "Pay Now", "Invalid Doc", "Incomplete", or "Re-Opened", that means you must take action by paying a fee, submitting a form, or uploading a corrected/missing document.

Regards,
National Visa Center,
U.S. Department of State

I’ve seen people talk about a DQ email and not sure what they’re talking about. That email is generic.

what does that message in the message center say?

Omg can't believe it! I got DQ'ed on Jan 11th, my submission date is Oct 9th!

However though, I did not receive any email yet. I just went on CEAC portal and saw there were notifications and saw it! So people, don't just wait for the email. Go on the portal and check it out.

I have a random question, I receive a FE request (right before the DQ notification- refer to screenshot) for a joint sponsor because our income did not meet the requirements however, we are not using our income to qualify. We are using our assets and it is well above 5x the income requirements.

So are we still approved???

So my original submission date was October 20th, but I found out that we need to submit a statement about why I don't have W2 for 2020.

I submitted it as "Other", I've heard mixed opinions about whether this resets the clock or not. I've heard people say that it goes based off only the required documents. Did anyone else submit "other" documents and still get DQ'ed based on the required documents submission date?

Submitted our documents to CEAC on October 11 and they were all approved today.

Only strange thing is, we received a message to upload a document but the document they were asking for has been uploaded and accepted. There are no pending documents. Anyone with this experience?

Log into CEAC and check to see if you have any messages, the email you've received is a notification that they update your case, usually a with a message to you. If you are DQ your email will say this.

If there are no messages call the NVC

From what I understand from all the posts I've seen, the Case FE review note that you received does not prohibit you from being documentarily qualified. However, you are required to prove that you are financially able to support your beneficiary when they become a greencard holder, and this decision is up to the consular officer. I would still wait to see the DQ email (the title of the e-mail should include the information that you are DQ'd) just to be sure, but the case FE review note should not affect the date of your interview, so you can rest assured.

However, you need further financial evidence/a joint sponsor and preparing those before the interview can save you time in order not to delay your visa in case they are requested, depending on your specific conditions, you may not need a joint sponsor but most people choose not to risk it. But you mention that your assets are well above the 5x threshold, so it would appear that you have no reason to worry. To state again, this decision is up to the consular officer and is decided on a case-by-case basis.

That's all the info I have, I hope it is of help. Good luck!

It seems that the NVC is DQ'ing people even though there is a question mark on their ability to meet the financial requirements, this maybe a good or bad thing.  Previously people who were using assets struggled at this stage as they needed to get various proofs and much was rejected at the NVC stage. This may be good as it lets you skip to the interview and prove the financial requirement there, but this could be bad if you get to the interview and CO rejects the case due to financial requirements not being met.

Read various posts on here about proving your assets, many struggled trying to show assets that can be used that would not impose a significant financial burden on the person. Our attorney and many others have always advised to use a co-sponsor as it's the fastest route through the process.

Hey guys I've been following this thread and others for a while. I'm new to this and well nervous, I got an original submission of October 10th 2021 seeing how people got DQ from oct 9-11th I'm a bit worried if nvc may have missed me or if I have gotten pushed to the back of the line since I've added additional documents fixing a mistake to previously submitted ones (wrong way up) should I be calm and wait until Friday then contact nvc next week if nothing has been heard from them?

Did you submit the corrected documents using their actual category or using "Other"? From what I've heard, the original submission date is what counts as long as it's before you got an RFE.

But everything I've read up until now says that using "Other" is how you make sure you don't end up going to the back of the line. I'm in the same situation.

I found out after that I should submit a statement on why I don't have W2's for 2020 (My job up until August 2021 was overseas in the country of my spouse who's the applicant), so I submitted a signed statement in "Other" category and I heard doing that will not reset my place in line.

Submitted them to their actual category and this is my first submission collected docs throughout June to October haven't gotten any RFE so still waiting as the 10th was the day I uploaded final required documents to start the clock.

I had an RFE in October, had to submit statements about 1099 and W2 forms, uploaded in 'Other'... well i've not had a response after submitting statements 27th October, so can tell in my situation it did put me to the back of the line.

It seems like these things are just based on which NVC officer picks up your case - some people resubmit and get passed in 4 days, others sit waiting for months (like me!). Hopefully you get yours quickly without waiting too long - it's a killer!

Hey. We are on the same boat. I started panicking yesterday and posted screenshots of the original docs submitted. I checked my account and I uploaded/submitted docs on October 4th and have no updates so far. Also, I did not submitted the optional documents and based on what other people say, i should have hit "submit" button every time when new doc uploaded. I do not really want to hit now, just because I fear that case will be delayed from the date I submitted again. I am going to wait up till next week and reach out to NVC. Situation is Kazakhstan is very destabilized and this gives a double stress.

Hello everyone. I am slightly nervous reading these threads..so we submitted October 6th, and on January 11th got notified that we have to re-submit I-864 (issue with the e-signature) and I need to replace a police certificate.  Once we fix these, does it mean we go back to the start of the line, i.e. we again need to wait 3-ish months? That would be so discouraging...
