Friendly reminder that the "reviewing submitted on" etc date is all but confirmed to be estimated and not entirely accurate.

I had a submission date of October 20th, and when the site read that they were reviewing inquiries submitted up to a week before, we got DQ'ed late on a Friday of that week.

Next week they only moved up to October 19th, so we got approved almost 8 days before our case time window was even acknowledged on the website.

There seems to be a +/- of 2 weeks and if I had to guess, when the earliest date passes a certain date, they make that date the "submitted on" date, but cases after that date can be reviewed sooner.

When the website shows a date past your date, for example you submitted October 15th and the website shows that they're reviewing the ones submitted on October 20th, that's when you should call to find out if something pushed your date back or if it's currently in review.

Please don't get upset at others. Everyone here has been waiting for months. Everyone here is excited that they're finally reaching the last stage of a visa so they can be reunited with family. If you're not happy with something someone said and can't discuss the topic peacefully, feel free to ignore this thread and find other ways to take out your frustrations in a healthy way that doesn't involve bashing other people.

Did you guys got the email first or did you guys login to your account and noticed that you have a message from NVC? Cause I don't have that habit of logging in to my account and checking every day. Thanks

what's your submission date?

From what I see in this forum, you get the email at the same time your status is updated online

11/17/2016: Got engaged
11/28/2016: I-130 sent to Chicago IL lock box
01/12/2016: NOA1

Nov 19th/20th. From all of my experience with documents and stuff, they are not accurate with the dates. I've always got approved before way before the actual date maybe 10-15-20days +/-. Hopefully We'll see soon.

we have similar timelines. Submitted most documents Nov 9 and the last documents Nov 19

We have seen +/- 2 weeks with the date NVC shows

I had a habit of logging in every day, because when our I130 got approved we didn't get an email or letter until a few days after the status updated online.

This time was different, I got an email on Friday afternoon (US time probably 3 or 4 PM PST) that our status was updated and my heart started racing while I was logging in to check.

The documentarily qualified email came at the same time but I didn't see it until after I logged in to check our status.

The email says "Notice regarding your Immigrant Visa Case becoming Documentarily Qualified". And the content of it is:

Quote

The National Visa Center (NVC) received all of the fees, forms, and documents that are required prior to attending an immigrant visa interview at a U.S. Embassy/Consulate General overseas.

NVC will work with the U.S. Embassy/Consulate General in TOKYO, JPN to schedule an interview appointment for you. Once we have confirmed an interview date, we will send a notice to you, your petitioner and attorney (if applicable).

Hope that helps.

Thank you so much for your detailed explanation. I wish you all the best in the future!

We submitted our documents on Oct 31st... still no update. Hopefully, we will receive an update by the end of this week or early next week. 🤞

Has anyone filled out a Public Inquiry form and receive a response back? Is it ever someone that can give you feedback on what documents you have submitted?

Yes, we submitted one, took 2 months for a response and it was sent from a contracted external company who offered no insight whatsoever. Pretty much along the lines of "Please read the website for information on documents submitted and await a review of your NVC submission".

Highly recommend phoning and speaking to an agent, the online form is a waste of time, in my opinion.
