We had our AOS interview today . Officer handed us a letter stating he needs more time to review our case . Later today our case status said we didn’t attend our interview 😩 we were definitely there lol the officer reviewed the application I submitted and ask my husband all the security questions . Nothing was asked about our relationship . We have a child together B6389BD7-C424-4927-AFD0-4D505F24960B.thumb.jpeg.1cf796fe9e32b1f1cab0b445d134b53c.jpegso maybe that’s why ??  My concern is the no show part . Will this delay the decision? What can I do ?

It is possible the officer selected the wrong box when labeling your case. No one knows how their system works. In the mean time, you can reach out to your US Senator or US Congressperson and tell them that you were there.

No shows lead to denials. Therefore, you want someone to take a second look and correct that. Act promptly.

Here you go. https://www.senate.gov/senators/

https://www.congress.gov/members

You always address them "To the Honorable Senator So and So"

It's not Sir or Madam. it is "Honorable Senator" and Honorable Congressperson.

Check on the USCIS account -make one if you haven't already-.
If it appears as no show there as well, call customer service, ask for a tier 2 and inform them of the issue.

Is the USCIS account the same one as the app ? I called and checked status over the phone and it says the same thing

The account is the one you need to sign for. Sometimes the info on it differs from the one you obtain from the USCIS case status page.

Now, if a tier 1 already told you that's what they see, you must talk to a tier 2, who are immigration agents and have full access to your file. They can actually fix the issue.

Tier 2 are not immigration agents. Everyone at that contact center is a customer service representative. They're not USCIS officers. I once drilled a Tier 2 on the phone and he finally explained to me that they are not officers. That is in 2018 but I doubt that has changed since then.

Tier 2s send requests for issues to be addressed. They can't actually fix anything.

Definitely seek help from your US Senator or US congressperson. Call and they will give you instructions on how to proceed.

I called this morning again . Tier 1 said she can’t transfer me to a tier 2 officer . That I have to wait for them to give me a call. She said a tier 2 officer would be the one to resolve the issue, it can take from 72 hours to 30 days for them to contact me 😡
So I guess in the mean time our case is sitting in the “now show”  pile .. How upsetting .

Ugh no!!! I can't believe how incompetent some people are!!! Anyways, you did the right thing by calling a tier 2 officer. In the meantime, I would also contact both your Congressman and Senator ASAP. Keep a log of everything you do and hopefully it will be resolved quickly.

Incorrect (temporarily) statuses on USCIS accounts are not uncommon.

Escalating it to congress immediately seems frivolous.

This is NOT something that cannot be fixed by USCIS reps and that a senator “has to fix.”
