Receiving green card timeline

Hi,

My spouse and I went through Consular Processing and he was approved of an IR1 visa in September.  We crossed the border on September 21st with his visa page in his passport, and he received his social security number through the mail about a week later.

However, when looking on the website, USCIS states that he should have received a Welcome Notice in the mail and then a green card.  I remember seeing that it takes up to 90 days or around that for the green card to arrive through different forums on here, just wasn't sure if we should have received a welcome notice other than the Welcome to the US letter he got back with his passport.

Are we supposed to have received something in addition to the welcome letter that was sent with his passport post arriving here?  And before they send the green card out?  Just wanting to make sure we aren't crazy or anything :)

We did!

You are supposed to get a green card eventually.  Used to be most of these arrived within 30 days. Now it takes longer.

Despite paying extra for these, it doesn’t seem like a high priority for USCIS to to deliver green cards to LPRs who have an I-551.

The endorsed IR1 visa is an I-551 and is good through September 2022.  Hopefully you will get the green card by August.  If not call USCIS, say “info pass”; and ask for an I-551 stamp.  The stamp will be good for a year.
