So we can assume she'll be interviewed at her field office.

There must be a big red flag for the case to be scrutinized by USCIS.

Many VJ members have been here for years and we tend to come across this type of response so we have looked it up before

and according to internet about Nigeria and your culture (which is what the CO at interview tends to follow)  this is what we have discovered and although women in the US hold responsible jobs with great careers,  the CO has to make decisions based on Nigerian culture

BTW breadwinner means the person who makes the money and supports the family

 

In most Nigerian families, the father is considered the head of the house. He makes most decisions and is the primary breadwinner for the family.

but did she add you to IRS (spring of 2020) to her tax returns doing the W7 form and providing proof of your ID and marriage certificate for your ITIN and then use that # for 2020 taxes in 2021 spring

that's the kind of commingling of assets we can provide to CO to show a real relationship 

i went thru all of this to get my Adil here in  the US (6 years of paperwork for immigration)

and letters and affidavits from  someone outside the US are of little to no value as immigration wants all signed documents to be legal in the US (an affadivt they can take to court) 

i listed the reasons (as u asked  what are red flag issues) and i listed high fraud country but no one here has said "u are committing fraud"

it is an issue for many countries including the one my husband is from

i am a woman much older than my husband and we are married almost 12 years

trying to help u but "10 +"   doesn't give us the ammo i could use to aid u and i did an appeal for my denied visa and i know how to fight for someone i love

OP, people aren’t trying to be difficult or judge your relationship. The questions people are asking have important answers. The age difference matters, not just how wide a gap, but at what ages you two personally are. For example, a 20-year age gap may mean totally different things in different offices. In a country where male younger than female relationships are locally uncommon, COs are much more harsh about age gaps, particularly if the female is older than child rearing age and the male has no children. Similarly, the amounts of money sent, and in what manner (a large lump at the start of a relationship, full maintenance, or occasional gifts/expenses) matter enormously. “Face time” also matters enormously. If you aren’t willing to answer those questions with specificity it becomes extremely hard to give you informed answers about your specific situation, all we can give are generalist answers.

Like I said it's not about how you feel it's about how Immigration looks at it. They don;t know it. We are all just giving you insight as what Immigration might be thinking.

Exactly.  This blog post from a few years ago explains it pretty well, in my opinion.

 

Are Older Women Marrying Younger Men Discriminated Against?

This question usually comes up when women marrying younger men, see or hear of their peers having more difficulty re-uniting with their foreign loved one, than older men marrying younger women. While the short answer to the direct question is, in my opinion, “no”, it can certainly feel that way sometimes.

What it comes down to is the primary question being decided by a Consular Officer in a Consular interview, or sometimes an Immigration Officer during an interview at a USCIS office in the USA. That question is, “Is this a bona fide relationship? In making this determination, the officer is required to make a number of fairly subjective judgments. Even though they have been trained to consider the totality of circumstances before them, including local customs and culture, they don’t always get it right.

For example, a 50 something American man marrying a 20 something woman from the Philippines or other Asian country, the age difference fits the local cultural norm. The counter example is the 50 something American woman marrying a 20 something, never married, Muslim man from Morocco, or even 30 something Christian man from Ghana or Nigeria. These relationships do not fit the cultural norms for the foreigner’s circumstances. They do however, fit nicely into common “fraud scenarios” seen often by Consular Officers.

It doesn’t seem fair and certainly doesn’t appear “equal” in terms of treatment, particularly if the couple isn’t aware these cultural issues are going to be considered.

Totality of circumstances is the key here.
