Oh I see, my dad died from covid last august coz he had underlying health problems 😔 and I didn’t have the chance to see him or go back to Philippines due to restrictions 😭 that’s why I’m asking here if it’s easy to get tourists visa for my mom so she can visit me here and experience how it was

Even before the long wait times caused by Covid, having a US citizen family member who can potentially sponsor an immigrant visa makes it very hard to get approved for a tourist visa. They automatically assume immigrant intent (even if you have tons of money/bank accounts/property/a job in your home country, doesn't matter in most cases) and it's very hard to prove to them otherwise. They're weighing up "ties to the US" versus "ties to the home country" and an immediate relative who can sponsor the applicant such as a USC spouse or parent is very, very hard to weigh against.

Give the wait times and high chance of denial, maybe see if there's a way to visit your mother either in PI or a third country. I'm sorry for your loss and the whole situation is super frustrating right now. My husband's grandmother died over the summer and he was unable to go to her funeral. These kinds of separations now have become really common with Covid. Many people are in a similar boat, same thing with tourist visas: the wait times are ridiculous, people haven't seen family members for years....it's the unfortunate reality for a lot of people right now. :(

I know, and it’s sad coz I never seen my dad since I left my country (Philippines) October 2013. Coz I was planning to visit them after I become a citizen which is September 2019 and then the covid started 2020 until I didn’t have a chance to see them. I was planning too to petition both of them one day but sadly my dad passed away. It’s so unfair, and it’s so hard to accept about what’s happening. Especially if you have no other family here in the US except your husband. I miss him so much 😔 and I blame myself for waiting too long before I plan to visit them and now his gone 😢 and I don’t think this pandemic will end anytime soon
