PCR-RT test arriving in Manila

Has anyone arrived in Manila lately? It seems they have changed the procedure a little bit, there was not a PCR-RT booth that I could see. I arrived today with my CDC card with my two shots plus my booster, I also took a covid test the day before I left and showed them I had negative results. After the health check in there was not a PCR-RT test booth to sign up they sent the people to the next step which was the hotel conformation. After that it was immigration, grab your bags and then customs.

The 2nd to last day of quarantine is when you get your test, unless it's changed since I was there a month ago. They do it at your quarantine hotel. You get your results the next day and if you are negative they let you leave the hotel. Why on earth would you take a test the day before you fly just to take it again when you get there?

Because the new guidelines is you bring a negative test you can get a 3 day quarantine instead of 5 days and my company pays for us to get covid tests once a month vaccinated or not.

Thank you for the response, I was in a bit of a panic because I didn't prepay for the test or schedule the test.

For me I paid at the hotel directly to the testing company. That's the way it was at that time.

An update on this one in case anyone is heading to Manila any time soon.

There is no longer a PCR-RT booth at NAIA.

You sign up for your PCR-RT test via the One Health Pass process.

There are three choices to pick from I picked the last option of the three which was Philippine Airport Diagnostic Laboratory or PADLab is what they are referred to, they are the largest covid testing facility of the 3 choices.  Any of the choices will work so don't sweat it.

The lab sent me an email the day after I arrived to confirm my information, hotel, room number and how I was going to pay, the cost was 2500 pesos.

They showed up on the day 3 just how it was listed on my One Health Pass.

My results came in early in the morning, the kicker is they are not officially released until 6 pm the following day in the One Health Pass system. That means you can't get your BOQ certificate until it is officially released.

Even though I have the PDF with the QR code from the lab, you can use this to get out of jail free from the hotel until later in the day when you can get your BOQ certificate and apply for your travel permit before leaving.  That is another 2 to 3 days to process, hoping if I apply today I can get it Tuesday morning for my flight.

Well fun fact if your hotel is listed only as a quarantine hotel you can't come and go as you like, you can only leave your room when ready to check out. The larger hotels like Hilton and others are dual purpose.  ah well a day or two more while I wait for my travel permit.

I thought all quarantine hotels were quarantine only, I left my room once to go downstairs to get my test. Other than that no leaving allowed and food placed on a chair outside my room.

That is what I thought as well, but they allow some hotels to be dual purpose. They just have to keep the quarantine guests and non-quarantine guests on separate floors. Quarantine guests must stay in their rooms while non-quarantine can come and go as they like.

I suspect the rules are different at every hotel and the rules also change twice weekly, but the place my wife quarantined the last two times had her coming down to the lobby just to receive FoodPanda deliveries and once she snuck out to 7/11 because the nighttime security guard was sleeping.

My hotel was on the UP campus so even if I could sneak out there was nothing close by to go to since the campus was shut down.
