Haven't received Greencard

My wife has entered the country, but she hasn't received her greencard. We applied for the greencard via the DS-260.

 

The greencard is provided by homeland security. When we ask the USCIS website it directs to the "case approved" page. it says the I-130 form was approved and that we should receive an approval notice. That this approval notice will contain the next steps to follow. This is causing some confusion on our part. i thought we did this already. is this even related to the greencard? Thanks!

DS-260 is for the visa not the GC. Did you/she pay the $220 GC fee after the visa was issued?

Spouse:

2015-06-16: I-130 Sent

2015-08-17: I-130 approved

2015-09-23: NVC received file

2015-10-05: NVC assigned Case number, Invoice ID & Beneficiary ID

2016-06-30: DS-261 completed, AOS Fee Paid, WL received

2016-07-05: Received IV invoice, IV Fee Paid

2016-07-06: DS-260 Submitted

2016-07-07: AOS and IV Package mailed

2016-07-08: NVC Scan

2016-08-08: Case Complete

2017-06-30: Interview, approved

2017-07-04: Visa in hand

2017-08-01: Entry to US

Once your wife has entered the US via an immigrant visa and once the $220 immigrant fee has been paid, she should receive her green card within a few weeks to a few months.   Her endorsed immigrant visa inside her passport will serve as her green card until the plastic one arrives.  You just have to be patient.  Hopefully, that clears up the confusion.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

In that case just wait. The status you are referring to on uscis is for the old i130 not the GC.

Her passport is now a full-fledged Green Card until the plastic one arrives.

You should have received a new case number with the confirmation of your payment. That number should accurately reflect the status of your green card. (Most likely it will be "Immigrant Visa Fee Payment Received". It can take a while. I entered the US in August, and just two days ago my status finally changed to "Card is being produced". Hang in there :)! 

 

 

FYI; the average time is stated to be 90 days; though if you call the USCIS; a tape mentioned an updated timeframe of 120 days.

The receipt# you received in email confirmation when you Paid the $220 that is the IOE number yo should be looking for status not your I-130.
