Missed Biometrics twice

Hello,

Received first Biometrics appointment (via mail) for I-485, but I had to call and reschedule because of a family emergency.

However, I have never received my second Biometrics appointment. I later noticed on my USCIS account that " Notice Was Returned To USCIS Because The Post Office Could Not Deliver It". Even though I have never changed address or anything.

I called USCIS afterwards and was told to expect a call within 60 days. I waited 60 days and I called again and was told to to expect a call from a Tier 2 agent within 30 days to be informed on what is next.

Has anyone faced this issue? (FYI, USPS been screwing up a lot lately, losing packages, not delivering packages, not updating tracking online ...)

Thanks

Have you tried walking in with your original bios notice and asking to have them done? Some local offices will let you.

Unfortunately no local office nearby. It would be risky to purchase a flight ticket to the nearby city / office and not be able to get the appointment :(

you mean no office in Houston?

It’s an adjustment of status for my father. He is currently living in Florida but the address on AOS package is Houston where I live. Risky to fly him to Houston if appointment is not guaranteed.

When my wife was doing bios, we were going to be out of town during the first appointment. She walked in and the officer said to come back after we return. He also suggested trying to go to the local field office where we were traveling. Ultimately she did it as a walk in after we got back even though she had requested a new appointment (we were still waiting for notice of a new appointment at that point).

Your dad should try going to an office in Florida near him, explain his difficulties obtaining an appointment, and see if they’ll take his bios.

Why is he trying to adjust via an office in another state from where he lives?  USCIS does not allow that.

You're supposed to notify them within 10 days of moving.

I would assume better late than missing 2 appointments, plus after changing the address better call USCIS and at least kindly what can be done now.
