Hey guys

Our case is currently stuck at the NVC with the Consulates in Australia only now trying to clear the backlogs,

Is it possible to visit my fiancé in the USA over the Christmas period with a ESTA?

its just been so long and it would be great to see her again

If anyone has done this please let me know your experiences.

Visiting during the process is fine....as long as you have valid ESTA, and you are admitted by CBP.  Every entry is at their discretion.    Many, many people visit during the immigration process.  Just remember that you cannot enter the US as a visitor with the intent to stay and adjust status.  I would be prepared to present evidence that you will return after your visit.

"The US immigration process requires a great deal of knowledge, planning, time, patience, and a significant amount of money.  It is quite a journey!"

Hi!
I haven't yet - but I am leaving for the US on Friday! I am in the same position stuck at NVC it's been almost 2 years since I've seen my husband and I just need to see him now the borders are open.

Our lawyer has said it shouldn't be any issues as long as a return flight home is booked. He has had many clients do it prior to covid before needing travel exemptions and such - too tricky when the AU exemptions are for 90+ days and you can only visit on an ESTA for 90 days!
He basically said to make sure you have all the documents proving your return, be honest about your immigration pending if they ask and make sure to state that you're here visiting your fiance/husband/wife and be alert & presentable upon landing and it should be fine.
Keep your fingers crossed for me lol
I will try remember to let you know if they do let me through CBP!
