Yes you or your spouse can write a letter of invitation for your brother, but he still needs to apply for the visitor's visa himself at the US consulate or embassy.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

Twomoles,

In one sense, yes. Anyone can invite someone to visit them.

In another sense, no. Your invitation is of no significance if your brother wishes to apply for a visa, other than to help him establish why he's applying for a visa, but it is not a necessity for his visa application.

Your brother will need to apply for a tourist visa to enter the USA. I don't know how long that will take.

I doubt that they would deny him visiting his own sister, but maybe case is different if I don't have permanent status yet? These are expenses already and again, but maybe not worth if it hits after September, is what I am thinking now.

And also, if he is just student without incomes, they will want to see some sort of affidavit and financial support again, where he is staying and that we will for sure send him back. Because for visitors visa main thing to prove is, that you will go back to your country, I think.

Twomoles,

Your status is of no importance, and they most definitely would deny him visiting his own sister if they think he may not leave the USA once he gets here.

Your brother will need to apply for a tourist visa to enter the USA. I don't know how long that will take.

It normally takes about 2 weeks to get an interview appointment, and if the CO likes you, you get a visa within 3 days after the interview. Non-immigrant visas are issued very quickly. But this may vary depending on a country, I believe.

Filed AOS from F-1
Green Card approved on 01/04/07
Conditions removed 01/29/09

Citizenship Oath 08/23/12

I agree that the invitation is very helpful to show that someone is offering financial support. However, your brother must show strong ties, and reasons of proof that he will return home. This is very hard for students in the first yrs of college. If he's in 4+ yr (and close to graduating), they know he'll return for that reason... to complete school. If your brother is in yr 1-2 its real hard for eastern european countries to get visas... I write from family experience.

Doesn't matter! I got AOS approval, and I am going to visit them!!! (Summer flying prices are so high :( )

He just turned 18, its his last year in high school. He has to many good friends, gf, family, country house, school, his guitar band - everything is there. He wouldn't ever move to here, he wouldn't like it here, I know him.

USCIS just don't know how awesome and unique he is. :)
