I-129F Filed in October 2021, sent to Lewisville Texas Lockbox as the beneficiary is in Thailand and I am from California. NOA 1 sent on November 1, 2021. Approved by USCIS on January 31, 2023. Yes a very long time.

Received an Email that the package was sent to NVC and then to the US Embassy on March 28, 2023. Must have been done electronically as we received an Email the same day with the K-Visa package 3 and 4 instructions.

Paid the interview fee and scheduled for June 29, 2023 at the US Embassy Thailand.

Medical completed 2 weeks prior to interview.

Interview completed on 6/29 and fiancé told approved. Next day received a phone call requesting information of when she mixed to Thailand from Myanmar. Followed by an email on July 7 saying 221G request for Burma Police Certificate.  Crazy but she has lived in Thailand since she was 13.

Luckily, with the war in Myanmar we were able to get a family member and her Village Chief to write a request for a police certificate for her. (He was given copies of all her required documents)

July 9, 2023 the Certificate was obtained and sent by a family friend via courier through the war zone and to us in Thailand.

July 13, 2023 had the document from the village chief and the Myanmar Police Certificate translated to English.

July 17, 2023 sent by registered EMS to the Embassy IV Unit.

July 19, received at Embassy and status in CEAC changed from refused to Application received on July 21.

July 25, 2023 CEAC status changed to Approved.

Waiting now to see what happens. Hopefully it goes to issued and no other requests are made.

Anyone know what it truly means by approved, someone has said it should be issued within 10 days.

It has been almost 21 months since the application was received and we started this VIsa Journey. We have been together 4 years.

For those still at NVC or "in transit" how is it going for you? Looks like I'm still stuck at embassy waiting for them to send us packet 3. All they say is to be patient.

What did your email from USCIS say? If it's stuck at NVC I would notify my congressmen.  Check your spam folder as well.

Wishing you the best.

Thanks we had interview but got hit with 221g so we are in administrative processing. No updates.

When was the interview? The embassy initially told my fiancé she was approved and kept her passport. It was the next Friday when we received an Email saying she was 221G for the Burma Police Certificate. The CEAC status went to Refused from No Status on that day.

I am hoping the CEAC status of Approved means we are in the home stretch.

Hopefully you get through the 221G processing before the initial 60 days is up.

Thinking good thoughts for you and everyone else. Such an anxiety filled process.

July 11. They did not keep his passport he had to send it in with the additional documents. Also had to send in his police report because the officer on 7/11 interview date didn't keep it-despite it being available in the document provided that day. So I have no idea what's happening. CEAC says "application received" now versus previously refused.

So excited to finally being able to get married and start our life in the US.

Congrats!

Im curious, does your fiance have thai citizenship? I see similar requests for my embassy but usually only if they're not a citizen of where they interview so trying to work out if that's why (for my sake)

No my fiancé is from Myanmar, Ethnic Karen. She however moved to Thailand when she was 13 with her mother who was hired as a Housekeeper/Nanny for a Thai family.

Ah wasn't sure if she'd obtained citizenship since moving. Like I have citizenships for UK but only moved here age 15

Thanks!

Thanks!

Thailand is not a country where one can obtain citizenship easily. It takes years, and you must be working and paying taxes for a minimum of 3 years.  The migrant workers do not make enough to file or pay taxes, so that removes them from the process.  The only other way for a woman is to Marry a Thai man.  However, a foreign man marrying a Thai woman can not gain citizenship at all unless working and paying taxes for many years.  No such thing as permanent residency here either unless you meet the above requirements.  Annual visa extensions and reporting to immigration every 90 days is required.

Ah that's rough. I've seen UK people have same issue you two had but that's just because EU citizens could live here without citizenship so didn't bother and yet embassy doesn't say you need a police check if you're a citizen of another country 💀

Glad you're close to being together ❤️

So we were previously "refused" to "application received" to now "approved". I understand that we want to see "issued"-my question is "approved" means it has to go back to the department that conducted the interview at the consulate for review?

Not in our case. It went from approved to issued within 24 hours.  I will keep thinking good thoughts for you folks.

Within 24 hours of the status in CEAC showing issued the USTravelDocs page now shows this:

Hopefully within the next 2 or 3 days it will be delivered to us at our house in Thailand.  When it is in hand I will then make the flight arrangements.
