Sorry I am late........

This is for the November K-1 filers. Welcome! Please keep each other company while going through this process. To properly fill out your timeline USCIS goes by "Received date" and not the notice date.

Example

I-129 F Sent -  November 3rd 2021

I-129 F Received - November 6, 2021

I-129 F - Notice Date - November 14, 2021

In this example your NOA-1 should be November 6, 2021. Forget about the notice date. This will help you properly fill out your timeline.

For those who have just filed your I-129f application with USCIS, this thread has been created for your needs and for you to be with others experiencing different aspects of this journey. This is a place to ask questions and to share experiences. All are here to learn together. Good luck because this is a lengthy process currently running 5-6 months from filing date for your NOA2 approval.

Also, since your application will go through several background checks this is a primer on what goes on with the background process.

I know it really sucks, but the best way to get through this is to lower your expectations and try not to compare your timeline to anyone else's. Don't forget that the people here on Visa Journey represent a tiny percentage of all the petitions the CSC (California Service Center) must work through! When someone gets to your file, you'll hear from them. Stay busy, talk a lot with your fiancé about non-visa stuff, don't forget to hang out with your friends, take up a new hobby, go to a sporting event, and your time will come! Good luck

The explanation why is it taking so long.

Mailed in my I-129 and corresponding documents on Nov 19th, they received and signed for Monday @ 3am - now just waiting for the email/text and for the check to be cashed..

side note: did everything with the help with my fiancee and pretty much just followed the instructions and provided everything to show proof (5 years). wonder if her being a Chinese passport holder living in London, uk would affect this, which i doubt.. so now we play the waiting game.

Hi everyone!
Our I-129F package just got delivered today with Fedex! We had a horrible experience several weeks ago with USPS so this is actually our second attempt to send the package out. And apparently we wanna make sure this one can go through without any problem!
Did anyone here also have their package sent to lewisville address signed by this person "R Robinson"?

Hi! I'm the beneficiary living in europe but have chinese passport too :) naturally the nationality and where the beneficiary lives at the moment won't affect the process as long as she's a legal resident in her residence country when it gets to interview phase

good luck 🍀

thats good to hear thank you~

I had to actually resend my I-129F packet on 11/30, but as of yesterday they had charged my card! so hopefully i got some good news soon.

I mailed my packet in on  November 17th. I was extra and did overnight shipping. I received a text on November 21st saying that the application was received.  Received my NOA1 in the mail about a week later saying that the application was received on November 17th and had been shipped to the California service center (I sent it to Dallas lockbox). My fiancé is a Nigerian citizen residing in Germany.

I had the same question in regards to his passport being from Nigeria but living in Germany.  They are considered a "Third Country National". I felt reassured after confirming that Germany does process visa applications for third country nationals, although still sort of nervous

Hi, I'm not well experienced in this but logic says that your son must have the citizenship directly after he was born if his father is an American citizen. In that case only you need the visa and your son will have no problems because he must have received an American passport. That's what I know. You can ask someone else to make sure.
