Do I need to show my employer my 24month extension letter now my greencard has expired?

 

Do I need to do anything with my social security number?

You can, if you want.  Not required.  Your SSN is valid for work as long as you have legal resident status.

You are not required to show it: https://www.uscis.gov/i-9-central/complete-correct-form-i-9/completing-section-3-reverification-and-rehires

Employers should not reverify:

• U.S. citizens and noncitizen nationals
• Lawful permanent residents who presented a Form I-551, Permanent Resident or Alien Registration Receipt card for Section 2. This includes conditional residents.
• List B documents

You can update that if you want. Show the 2-year GC with the extension letter to SSA so that they can issue an unrestricted SSN card and update your Numident record.

Like the other commenter said, you’ll be fine leaving it on there.
 

My ssn says that too, and I haven’t updated it due to covid and offices being closed. I was concerned it would cause problems so I called the social security office and they told me it does not impact me whatsoever and there’s no rush to change it at this time.
