just to add to the advice from ws1889, after you've uploaded the documents to the relevant section, make sure you hit the 'Submit Documents' button to complete the submission. I would also recommend logging out and then back in to ensure the documents are still showing correctly under the relevant section (note you wont' be able to open the AOS documents), as we have seen people claim to have uploaded something but then log back in and it not being there.

It's no problem - I'm glad I can help! So many people have helped me in this forum, so glad to pay it forward.

When you log in, you'll see the box for the AOS and the Applicant Information. There's a hyperlink for status. For example, if yours says 'incomplete', then select that. Under "required docs", it'll probably request whatever you're missing. You can also click 'add an additional document' under additional documents. Also, my mistake was that I did not upload the 1099 for my joint sponsor (I only uploaded their tax return) - so basically, for all tax returns, you have to provide all W2s and 1099s.

Hope that helps!

Thank you soooo much

Another question: Does the date submitted stay the same as my original date? Or should it be updated to today?

The NVC asked us to submit a second birth certificate.  We were instructed to submit both together, but the required docs had only one space for birth certificate, so we uploaded the second one in the additional docs area.  After they were submitted, I noticed that the birth certificate in the required docs section retained the original submission date, whereas the additional docs showed the date of resubmission.  That was Oct 22, but no word yet...

Same for us... It shows the original date the forms were submitted (for those accepted) and the new date for the newly uploaded form.

So replaced documents retain the original date...

Well no, not exactly. The documents which have been accepted keep the original date, but those resubmitted have the new submission date. Not sure how that affects the processing.

I'm praying for that

Also wondering if it would be better to expedite and wondering what that process is like

Hello @ArwaE

Kindly assist

I got an Fe from NVC asking for all 1099 forms for 2020 from my Joint sponsor. My Joint sponsor only earns salary from his employer. The W-2 and Tax return of my Joint sponsor was submitted and accepted. Kindly let me know What this 1099 form is ? Because my Joint sponsor says they don't have any 1099 form at all. Or should my Joint sponsor make a short note to NVC stating they don't have anything like the 1099 form.

Thank you

Hi - a 1099 is basically any form to report income that is not from employment. It could be if you worked as an independent contractor, or maybe it's from if you had money in a savings account, and the bank gave you interest. If they are asking for a 1099 form, then it's likely that the sponsor does have one and maybe they are just confused. Hope that helps.

Hello, yeah that was very Helpful

Thank you so much

But my joint sponsor still insists they have no form 1099. Will it be best we write a short note to the nvc that they never had the form 1099.

Thank you.

I'm honestly not sure - it's odd that the NVC is requesting it if there isn't one. They don't have a W2 either? I'm sure the NVC looks at the income and then checks to see if the W2 and 1099s add up. Hopefully someone with more experience on this matter can help you.
