Hello,

We submitted our documents to the NVC on 8/28, and today I received this message: 'Please submit every 2020 W-2/1099 form'. We have already submitted the forms, as requested, but are curious how long this may delay the application's processing. Has anyone read about the potential delays caused by requests for additional documents? Would calling the NVC and inquiring have any potential benefit?

Also, what is the likely wait time from the NVC accepting the documents to scheduling an embassy interview for an IR1 visa (will be interviewing in Budapest). Any information is kindly appreciated!

have you already submitted the 2020 information? it won't delay the process if it's in at a timely matter. when i was sent my interview letter they asked that of me and I uploaded but it was before my interview so i was ok.

Hi, yes. I submitted everything they asked for today after receiving their request. So at this point, I'm just hoping that there won't be too much of a delay in their review.

From what I have read in this forum, once you resubmit, the clock starts ticking again and the new submitted by date is your new submission date.

There are cases where the resubmit cleared faster, so it could go both ways or in between.

Let's hope it goes faster since you already waited a long time

Good luck

Oh no! I hope not... Everything else was approved in my application, so I'm hoping that they can just quickly review the missing 1099 and then approve it too :)

We had the same thing happen to us, unfortunately you go back to end of the queue and start the wait again. The only times we've seen this not occur is when people submit before the review which is not the situation you're in. Sorry this probably isn't there news you want to hear.

Make a note of your new submission date and be patient.

Ouch... that's a real shame. Thanks for providing this information.

I also Submitted on Aug 22 and received a message on Nov 17th saying to upload the 2020 tax transcript from my joint sponsor. That's the only document that was rejected. Everything else was accepted.

I really hope we get reviewed quickly since it's only one doc that was rejected and it wasn't a civil doc *fingers crossed*

That's my thought exactly! In my case, it wasn't even the tax transcript, just a single 1099 form! Hoping that you also do not have a delay.

I'm praying for that

Also wondering if it would be better to expedite and wondering what that process is like

Also I have a question: Does the status box at the bottom also say "Invalid Doc" or "Incomplete"?

Because mine says Invalid and I was wondering if that will mean it will be reviewed faster??

I can't recall exactly what it said - it just says 'submitted' now.

Sorry to bother you but how do you resubmit the docs? Do you put it as an additional doc?

It's no problem - I'm glad I can help! So many people have helped me in this forum, so glad to pay it forward.

When you log in, you'll see the box for the AOS and the Applicant Information. There's a hyperlink for status. For example, if yours says 'incomplete', then select that. Under "required docs", it'll probably request whatever you're missing. You can also click 'add an additional document' under additional documents. Also, my mistake was that I did not upload the 1099 for my joint sponsor (I only uploaded their tax return) - so basically, for all tax returns, you have to provide all W2s and 1099s.

Hope that helps!
