Islamabad Embassy Packet 3 Letter Timeline

Hello,

We received K1-FTP notification from NVC on October 28th, 2021 that our case has been set to US embassy in Islamabad, Pakistan. We have already completed DS-160 form and paid the visa fee. However, we have not received a letter from US embassy yet. Our case status on CEAC currently shows "Ready" for interview. Can we proceed with medical examination and scheduling K-1 interview online in the next couple of weeks without Embassy letter in hand? We are thinking about scheduling our interview on November 30th. Can we show up to our interview without embassy letter or would they reject us? Thank you in advance for any guidance!

I just went through this process last week

Following were the steps I had to take to set up the interview

Once the case status changed to Ready, We filled out the DS160 and submitted it

then we went to ustraveldocs, filled out all the information and paid the visa fee at ABL

Once that was done we were able to select the interview date

Now before selecting the interview date we called the Medical center in islamabad to confirm what dates were available and based on that we selected 2 weeks later date

The email was sent after the visa was scheduled, (this email had the interview appointment and barcodes etc. to the email address you provided in us travel docs)

the medical people also sent an email to fill out medical history and all (the medical though was scheduled over the phone)

Medical took one week and we picked it up directly from them (2 items one a sealed report and one an envelope with the cd)

They also required us to bring copies of interview letter (the email from the embassy) passport, cnic, vaccination (covid and other) polio vaccine card and pictures and the fees as well

All of this happened in the last few weeks

She has interview tomorrow morning

Hopefully this helps, if any questions dont hesitate to msg

Also, if you can be kind enough to fill out your timelines as it helps other members to gauge there times as well.

Thanks

Thank you so much! Just to be clear, you scheduled K-1 interview based on "Ready" case status on CEAC and without Packet 3 letter from US embassy which usually comes in mail?

Let me know how the interview goes tomorrow and good luck to you guys!

Yep

I don't think they send any letters in the mail for K1 visa interview.

Hey I was wondering if you end up scheduling your interview without the embassy letter or did they end up sending you the email?

Yes, that was asked by the medical center.

In Pakistan they do get a polio vaccinated card.

I need to tell my fiancé to get one. So he can go to any clinic and get the vaccine even though he is in Pakistan temporarily?

You can contact Aziz Medical center, they were very polite with answers and if you don't have certain vaccines (which are needed for US travel) and you tell them they will offer them (of course for a cost) but yeah I would just call them directly and talk to them first. Your case is unique. So you never know.
