Hello, its my first time posting here so sorry if it is in the wrong section.

Myself and my partner filed for the k1 in Dec 2020 after he left the country after leaving the Air Force. We had known eachother over 3 years and had lived together one of those. We spent 8 montbs apart and he has been here with me the last 5 months because we couldn't be away from eachother but he has to leave next week.

I went for my medical in London on thursday, it was the most nervous I think i have ever been! Anyway I was open and honest about my mental health (had a very detailed summary care record) and have had low mood and depression on and off and was diagnosed at 16 as having borderline personality disorder, i took a non serious overdose and was asked to be hospitalised i was for 2-3 weeks. Again in 2017 i had post natal depression and asked to be volinterily admitted for a few days before discharging myself. I admitted to the doctor I had tried cannabis once in 2017 when it was offered to me by a neighbour when I couldnt sleep and did a drug test (just incase they wanted my mental health history and it was on there). I have been on no medication, and under no mental health team since early 2018 and my mental heath is the best it has ever been, i am very happy and am positive about the future.

I was told my police record came back with a live trace which I guessed was a caution from when I was 15-16 when i had a small fight with a girl at school and she called the police and i apologised and it was all dropped, i now have to wait a month for a subject acsess report for the interview.

I am now waiting the 5 days to see if the medical needs further info or if i get signed off. I am so worried i am going to get denied. I want to be with my partner more than anything in the world. Has anyone had any experience similar or does anyone have any advise. I will probably be waiting 1 month or more before i can even book my interview.

Hi.  Have you heard anything back about your medical?

Not yet, I am still waiting to hear back if they need any further infomation. I am going to call on Thursday to see if it has been signed off if I hear nothing from them by then. Hopefully it will just be signed off and I wait for my more detailed police record and I can book the interview. 🤞

There’s not a lot of denials in London. I’ve seen worse get visas. Too bad you didn’t know to order your subject access report while you were waiting all this time. Did they ask you to get any further statement from your doctor? Usually people in London take in something from their GP  that says you are “not a threat to yourself or others”.

What about your jabs?Did you get signed off as complete on everything you need for AOS? If not, you really need to do something about it before they send your results to the embassy.

A gp wrote a really great letter explaining how i did have problems but they are no longer an issue and havent been for years. It did say she thinks i am mentally well and am not a risk to myself or others.

I have had all the nessacary vaccinations and have been given a print out of it for my AOS. Thats all I know, they said they'd contact me in 5 buisness days if they needed anything else but i provided all the documents asked.

If you took that, then all will be well. Chin up. Start looking for interview appointments.

So the medical has been signed off with no further infomation needed. Just waiting for this police report as I dont want to go to the interview without it.

Great news!  How do you know it was signed off?  Is there a way to see when the embassy has received it?

I believe he/she means the four page medical report was signed off by the doctor at Visa Medicals clinic. The vax sheet (photocopy) they give you would have a signature and one would have to assume the rest of it is completed since they did not ask her to obtain any addition info from her GP.

Not really. Your CEAC status may get a new date and you could speculate “that may be because my medical arrived and they accessed my file”.
