URGENT ADVICE needed - Bringing family memeber to USA

Hi All,

I have a question if anyone can help me direct to the right person or information. I would greatly appreciate it.

I am a US citizen and my husband is green card holder and we want to bring my father-in-law and mother-in-law to the USA from Bangladesh.

Both my husband and I are professional working and we have a 10 months old baby. We would like to bring my in-laws here so that they can see their grandchild and also temporarily take care of him. Both us have a pretty hectic IT professional life style and prefer someone in the family taking care of our child then sending him to a day care or baby-sitting service center.

Please provide any advice on this.....this would be very valuable to us.

Again,

Thank you very much in advance for all your advice and pointers.....

A USC cannot file for In-Laws, only a USC can file for their own parrents, and siblings.

The LPR first needs to naturalize and become a citizen, then the "New" Citizen can file for his parents.

Immediate Relatives of U.S. Citizens (IR): The spouse, widow(er) and unmarried children under 21 of a U.S. citizen, and the parent of a U.S. citizen who is 21 or older.

Ditto the above, I do not know the processing time in Bangladesh, usually a little bit les than a year.

Always wonder what plans people have for Healthcare in these cases.

Thank you all again and again.

What if we want to bring them for visit? they were here about 6 years ago for my husband's graduation. Their visa expired just this December. We wanted them to renew it but they did not (lazy BONGS *lol*)... now they want to come because they have a grandchild they like to see. They just want to come for few months and head back. I do not think they want to come here permanently.

Boiler we already inquired for healthcare; we will get them visitor coverage. Check out the website if anyone is interested...saw an ad on tv so we checked it out....

Au Pair

You have to go through an Agency

Whether you would get one from Bangladesh might be a long shot.

http://www.aupairusa.org/ as a starter

Another B2 Visa. But that is only for visiting.

HI! i would love to do the same thing to my wife's parents. I was just reading the form I-130, and under section 3: "For Whom May I File?".. at section H. it says that I can file for, grandparent, grandchild, nephew, niece, uncle, aunt, cousin or IN-LAW.. and majority of the reply here says it is not possible, because USC is not biologically related to the parents. but why would the form says that it can bring "IN-LAW" for processing I-130? i just want to clarify this. thanks for the support. :)
