Hello all,

So we sent our ROC package and it got delivered today. We realized that we did a mistake on our Money order. The fee amount is correct but in "Pay To" we wrote down the "USCIS address" ( Phoenix AZ) instead of writing "US department of Homeland security"

Anyone have any idea whats gona happen now?

We are worried to our stomach and feeling so bad about this situation. We took a lot of time to organize all this package and even then we made a mistake 😓😓😓😓😓

I wouldn't worry too much. Just reassemble another package and have it ready to go ASAP. Either this package will be accepted or rejected, and if rejected you will be ready to refile right away. Your naturalization window stays the same if that's what you're planning to do so you don't even lose any time.

I paid using a regular check, I think that is the easiest way.

It is going to be rejected.

I will prepare another packet, cancel the other MO when I am ready to send new packet and then go ahead and send out the new one.

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.

Thank you so much for the reply. We have our 2nd copy of Package ready but the only thing we submitted original in 1st packet was the Affidavits. Is it ok to send copy of affidavit in 2nd pacakage. Also we will have to wait to get any kind of notification of rejection before we send this duplicate package

Affidavits are the weakest of all evidence.  I would wouldn't bother .

I agree with @Crazy Cat.

if you cancelled the money order it will be rejected for sure. If you haven't then you may want to wait a week or so to check if it does get accepted. It probably won't but a search of the forums shows that some people have had the case accepted:

I don't think you need to wait for a rejection notice to refile, though.

Thank so much for sharing this. It gives me some hope. Thank you for searching this for me. I will wait and see what happens. If it gets rejected i will file another one right away and will overnight ship it.

For now i will wait and see what happens.

They will return it. We filed our ROC, we wrote a check for the wrong amount, it was sent back within a week. All we had to do was resend the packet with a new check. Once we did that, they issued an extension within 2 days. Totally panicked when it got send back but it came with a notice basically just telling us what to do- I.E send an updated check

Update: Got  a call from FedEx yesterday evening. They said they have my package and haven't delivered it🙂 even when tracking shows it was delivered. ( I was tracking my package for 3 days and called customer care multiple times to cancel the shipment and return it back to me)

They are sending it back to me ( i had to pay for it)

I will get my package back on Friday and then I will fix the money order and will send back again on Monday
